El Taco Loco in New Bern

The best place in the entire east coast!!! No one can compare to this place. Worth the drive from anywhere! Everything on the menu has excellent portions. And the bonus is now they have desert. One stop shop! If they had 10 stars u would give it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The burritos are really good, and big! I prefer the chicken the steak is a little too chewy for my liking and I believe I've tried the fish as well. The tacos are nice and for the price I couldn't complain.

This place has the best Mexican food within 30 miles of New Bern. Friendly employees and decent service. This place has the mom and pop shop feel.

Delicious and they have carne asada fries!!!!! Authentic, affordable and as delicious as the food I've had while traveling in Mexico. Carne asada tacos were awesome as well and my husband destroyed the huge burrito loco. My preschoolers loved the chicken quesadilla and chicken tacos they split. And they have the good kind of Coca-cola that's made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. We will be back as much we can!

Probably the second most authentic restaurant I've been to. Food is so delicious and services is great. The wait times are usually 5-10 minutes. The prices blow me away from how good the food is. Honestly if you're ever near I suggest stopping by and eating.

Authentic Mexican food. Fresh and delicious ingredients. Friendly staff and absolutely delicious. The burritos are HUGE, 2 meals worth. And the fries are shareable and one of our favorites. They expanded awhile ago and now serve Mexican style desserts. We got fresa con crema and it was so good. Shareable as well. Definitely the place to go if you are wanting true Mexican food.

Best Mexican food restaurant in the area. The portion sizes are fantastic and the taste is superb, closer to traditional and authentic than most Mexican restaurants around. Quick service and outstanding quality.

Always out of steak, you guys' may need a new manager one that can order supplies better.

$8.99 Carne Asada Burrito will feed two grown men, They got the trifecta, delicious, plenty, and cheap, get one of those Coca-Colas in the glass bottle and the green salsa (hot), good stuff.

The quantity and price of the food was pretty good. With that said, the food itself was a miss for me. If you like really meat heavy meals, you might like this more than I did. I would like more sauces and sides to balance the flavor so it doesn't feel like eating a meat log.

There food is freaking awesome! Their servings are large and delicious. Did I mention they are awesome! Worth every penny.

This place is the real deal. If you are a person who eats food, which I'm sure you are, then you must eat here. The staff were inviting and friendly. It's New Berns best hole in the wall spot for Mexican. Authentic street mexican food. This coming from someone who lived in Los Angeles and San Diego for the last 14 years. Makes me miss home. Do not even bother with other Mexican places in the area.

Love this place. Have had the opportunity to travel to Southern California and Arizona and enjoyed a lot of authentic Mexican food, and this little quant spot never disappoints. Pricing is very fair, staff has always been friendly and the food has always been what seems freshly prepared and tasty, highly recommend.

I love authentic Mexican food and this place hit the spot. I had 3 tacos (lengua, asada, barbacoa) and each was fresh and flavorful. I added salsa verde, limes, radishes, and hot sauce. They were delicious!

If you want great authentic Mexican food this is the spot, the food is a good that you want Moore but have no room for it. The staff is really nice and explaining everything to you, I have been dealing with a few years now in three of the different locations

The California burrito was huge I had to divide it up between lunch and dinner really good place to eat

I came here based on the reviews, and let me tell you folks, they ain’t lying! This place is the real deal, as I had trouble finishing my burrito because it was the size of my forearm! Perfect place to fill up without emptying your wallet, burrito and a half liter authentic Coca Cola for ten bucks, can’t beat that!

If you want a taste of California this is the place to go. Reminds me of growing up in Northern California.

Great little restaurant in the small community of New Bern. I had the taco salad and it was one of the top salads I've had (and I live in Texas). I did over hear other customers comment how good the tacos were so I was interested in trying for myself, but the taco salad hit the spot for me. I hope this places keeps it simple and let the food speak for itself. Service was straight forward and to the point. I will say I over heard a customer mention he ordered the wrong taco by mistake and the waiter took care of him by giving him 1 free taco (of the taco he meant to order) and that speaks value as well. Job well done! Keep it simple and friendly. I would love to visit again.

We're on our way to the beach and got hungry. We're so glad we found this hidden gem. We ordered all different kind of tacos, cheese quesadilla, and a chicken burrito. The food tastes phenomenal. Outstanding place!!

Awesome lil nook tucked away from the mainstream to grab lunch. Will definitely not leave wanting more food! The burrito is enormous!

Best burrito I've had out side of Mexico and California huge portions

I hold cali burritos in high regard as I spent a couple years over there on the west coast. Always a challenge to find a really good one on this side of the tracks.When I ordered, I was a little taken back by the price. $10 for one burrito seemed a bit excessive. But that point stood fine once I was handed the Hispanic child wrapped in foil that was this burrito. The portion size is not a joke. This is definitely a two meal situation, unless you're an animal. Or you subscribe to the "don't stop when you're full, stop when you hate yourself" philosophy on meals.Flavor is pretty good, definitely not the neighborhood of great cali burritos. The massive portion size makes it tough for the burrito to hold up and for you to get a balanced bite of everything. But overall it was a pleasant experience and definitely filling. I'll definitely be back to try out other items here.

Has some of the best tacos and burritos I've had on the east coast. Had it once about a month ago and I drive about 30 minutes every weekend just to get some. I reccomend giving it a try.

Authentic Mexican food in North Carolina is possible and this place is the best hands down. It is visiting a Taqueria in LA or in San Diego. Carne asada fries and the California Burrito just awesome. For ten bucks they will feed you so much that your ribs will break from the inside out.

Very, very personable greeter/host! I tried the fish taco as a takeout order and enjoyed it!  It was one of two House Special taco selections which I ordered during a "make it different" lunch event. Good price. Good food. Pleasant interaction:  What more could one ask for?
